Product Code: WINSS3000

Description

One of the highest rated indoor HDTV antennas by independent testers and the NAB. The SS-3000 is optimized for performance across both UHF and High band VHF DTV frequencies ensuring quality DTV reception on all channels.

The SS-3000 utilizes a surface mount circuit board for highly efficient transfer of digital signal. It also features a high input amplifier specifically designed for digital signals. The SS-3000's scatter plane reflector rejects unwanted signal bouncing around the room and locks on to the usable digital signal.

When an outdoor antenna is not an option, the only choice for digital indoor reception is the SS-3000.
  • Winegard Scatter-Plane to reject digital multi-path
  • Response throughout VHF/UHF bandpass
  • DTV reception in apartment/condominiums to receive digital broadcasts where line-of-sight to the transmit source is blocked
  • 0 - 15 mile range from broadcast tower (yellow)
  • Use www.antennaweb.org to help find the right antenna for your location
  • Once you enter your street address you will be provided with a color coded chart for the right type of antenna
Why do you need an Antenna?

Highest Quality DTV and HDTV source!
DTV and HDTV received through an antenna provides a higher quality picture than cable or satellite with no compression. HDTV broadcasts also offer room filling, ultra realistic 5.1 channel digital surround sound.

More Channels than ever before!
DTV technology allows most households to receive double, triple, or more channels through an antenna, including 24/7 local news!

No Monthly Programming Fees!
OTA antennas can save you over $1,000 a year. Once you have one there are no fees to receive programming now, and there never will be.

Emergency Backup system!
Satellite and Cable can have interruptions in service from various situations. Having a DTV antenna installed not only gives you the highest quality picture, but provides a second source of information in an emergency situation.

Very Pleased October 10, 2009
Reviewer: Lori S. from N/A
After the digital conversion in June, I had a Radio Shack antenna which was JUNK. I had read reviews on Zip about the various antennas, and the Winegard SS-3000 looked good. I only needed it for a 20 inch TV in the bedroom. I received it super fast (the day after I placed the order, with regualr UPS shipping), and it was very easy to put together. I am very pleased with the Winegard. I am able to pick up about 20 channels. I would recommend the Winegard SS-3000.

Work Wonderfly October 9, 2009
Reviewer: Heidi from Redwood City
I purchased this for my HD LCD TV and it is great. I live about 23 miles from the broadcast towers in San Francisco on a hill. I get about 20 or so channels, many in HD. I only watch less than half because some are foreign languages and some are just boring. But, the quality is as good as cable. I am very impressed.

Solved our reception problem October 9, 2009
Reviewer: Matt Szekelie from N/A
Our local fox affiliate changed out their broadcast tower, and we lost their signal. We installed the Winegard SS-3000 and we now have perfect reception from the local fox station (just in time for football season). Assembly was fairly straightforward. It did take a couple of hours of trial and error to find the "sweet spot" where we could get the weak fox signal. We were getting the Pentagon channel in Killeen and the KXXV weather channel in Waco no problem (these are over 80 miles from our house) so it is a mystery why a single major network affiliate less than 10 miles from our house was so problematic. Anyway, the antenna worked and we are pretty happy with it.

Works great in my basement!!!! October 7, 2009
Reviewer: Ricky Kehart from Springfield
I really enjoy this product. It works great in my walkout basement away from all windows and doors. The product is rather large though (only reason it got 4 stars, not because it doesn't work) and does not fit well on my t.v. entertainment center so it definitely looks out of place. But for the money, it is well worth it. I live in a small metro area with about 12 stations and get them all but one just fine without problems. I don't have to turn the antenna to get different channels, I get them all in one spot and in clear HD. So far is has worked on sunny and very stormy days without issue. I have heard that even though an amplifier works good for some, it does more harm than good for some channels. Other antennas allow you to use it with or without the amplifier but this won does not have that option, it's always amplified. I don't know much about antennas as this is the first one I have ever used. I did lots of research and heard this was the best. I get very clear HD reception in a basement away from the doors and windows. It's more about what you have around you and what type of material it is. Metal buildings cause a lot of reception problems. best idea is to ask friends or neighbors to see what works for them and search for info around your area. The internet is great for getting information, but things like this are very local issues. Go to your local best buy or electronics store and ask around to see what works best as they will usually know. Good luck to you!
